What is a blank profile?
When adding a new social media profile to Kontentino, you have the option to create one manually. Proceeding with this option will create a blank profile. đ
With a blank profile, you can easily plan, draft, and review your social media posts. In other words, it has all the functionalities of a connected profile â the only difference is that a blank profile is not connected to any existing page/account. This means you cannot publish your posts from Kontentino to this social media profile.
Why use a blank profile?
You can use a blank profile as a digital playground for testing ideas, campaign planning, or as a placeholder for social platforms that arenât yet supported by Kontentino yet, such as BlueSky or Reddit.
Facebook groups are another good use case. Facebook doesn't provide API access for publishing to groups, so posts to a group can't be scheduled or published from Kontentino â but you can still plan and approve them in a blank profile and post manually directly on the platform.
You can also use a blank profile for your personal Facebook and Instagram accounts.
How to add a blank or mock-up profile?
pen the profile selector in the upper left of the Calendar.
Click + Add profile.
Click on Create below the selection of social media platforms.
Choose the social media platform.
Give it name, add logo if you want and click Create.
When creating a new profile, youâll need to select one of the available social media platforms available or other. However, you can give your profile any name you want and use the drafted posts for any platform you need.
Can I schedule posts planned in a blank profile?
Not automatically. A blank profile isn't connected to a social media account, so Kontentino can't publish to it. You can still download the post's assets, copy the text, and publish manually on the platform itself.
đĽ Hot tip: Workaround for Instagram!
If your blank profile was created as an Instagram profile, you can use Manual Publishing instead.
You schedule the post in Kontentino as usual, and the Kontentino mobile app sends a push notification 5 minutes before the scheduled time. Tapping it opens the post in the app, media downloads to your device and the caption is copied to your clipboard. Then you finish publishing in the Instagram app.
Good to know:
The Kontentino mobile app is required, with push notifications enabled.
The notification goes to the user who scheduled the post. You can change the recipient via the three dots in the push notification tooltip â Change a user.
If the notification is missed, publishing won't complete. Kontentino still marks the post as "Posted" once the scheduled time passes, so it can look published in the calendar while nothing appeared on Instagram.
Manual Publishing works for all Instagram formats â Stories, image and carousel posts, and Reels.
