How to Check X (Twitter) Account Permissions for Connecting to Kontentino

Written by Ana Tyshchenko

To successfully connect your X (formerly Twitter) account to a Kontentino, ensure that:

✔ Your account has the necessary permissions to connect third-party apps.

✔ You have Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) disabled (if connection fails).

✔ You have authorized permissions for the X API.

🔹 Step 1: Check Your Account Permissions

  1. Go to Twitter.com and log in.

  2. Click on your profile picture (top-left corner) and go to Settings and privacy.

  3. Navigate to Security and account access → Apps and sessions.

  4. Under Connected apps, check if you have already granted permissions to third-party apps.

  5. If you see the Kontentino product listed but still have issues, try revoking the access and reconnecting it.

✔ Ensure your account is not restricted or flagged, as this may block API access.

🔹 Step 2: Disable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) If Necessary

Some third-party integrations may fail if Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is enabled. To check:

  1. Go to Settings and privacy → Security and account access → Security.

  2. If Two-Factor Authentication is enabled, try temporarily disabling it.

  3. Attempt to connect your X account again.

✔ You can re-enable 2FA after successfully connecting.

🔹 Step 3: Ensure You Have API Access & Developer Mode Is Not Blocking Connection

  1. If you use X Premium or have a developer account, some API settings may interfere with third-party connections.

  2. Go to Developer settings (if applicable) and check your App permissions.

  3. Ensure your account allows third-party integrations.

🔹 Step 4: Try Connecting Again

  1. Enable pop-ups in your browser (Twitter/X login may require them).

  2. Clear cache & cookies to prevent login issues.

  3. Log out and log back into X (Twitter).

  4. Try connecting X again in Kontentino.
