If your X (formerly Twitter) posts fail to publish, or you can’t connect your X profile to Kontentino, this guide will help you sort it out in 4 simple steps:
Only if the connection still fails:
✅ 1. Ensure your account is not restricted
Make sure:
Your account isn’t restricted, protected, or suspended, as this can block API actions.
You’re using a normal user account (not locked into limited developer settings).
✅ 2. (If applicable) Make sure Developer / Premium Settings aren’t blocking API access
If you’re using X Premium, a Developer account, or have modified App permissions:
Open Developer settings (if visible)
Check App permissions / API access
Make sure your account allows third-party integrations
Developer-restricted accounts sometimes block OAuth authorization.
✅ 3. Remove Kontentino Integration on X
How to remove it:
Log in to your X account.
Settings and Support → Security and account access → Apps and sessions → Connected Apps
Click Kontentino App → Revoke app permissions
This only removes access — it does not delete your scheduled content in Kontentino.
✅ 4. Reconnect Your X Profile in Kontentino
Once the Kontentino integration is removed from X, refresh the connection inside Kontentino:
Log in to your Kontentino account.
Go to My Profile → Authorization → navigate to X and click on Reconnect
You’ll be redirected to X - make sure you're logged in to the correct X account.
When prompted, click Authorize app to grant access.
5. Select the profile from the list in Kontentino and hit Add profile.
Once connected, the profile will appear under your Profile Selector, and you can resume scheduling.
✅ 5. Only if the connection fails - Disable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
In some cases, X blocks third-party app authorization when 2FA is enabled - especially SMS-based 2FA or accounts with older security settings.
To check:
Go to Settings and privacy → Security and account access → Security.
If Two-Factor Authentication is enabled, temporarily switch it off.
Try connecting X to Kontentino again (Step 4).
You can re-enable 2FA once the connection is successful.
✅ 6. Other quick fixes that often help
If authorization still doesn’t go through:
Enable pop-ups in your browser
Clear browser cache & cookies
Log out and log back into X
Try the reconnect process again from Kontentino
