Learn how to navigate your Kontentino dashboard (Home) and make the most of its widgets to stay on top of your social media content workflow.

Your dashboard is your home base in Kontentino - the first thing you see when you log in. It’s designed to give you a quick overview of everything that matters: your upcoming posts, pending approvals, tasks, and recently used profiles. Think of it as your social media command center! 🎯

Dashboard Overview

When you open Kontentino, you’re greeted with a personalized welcome message that changes based on the time of day:

  • ☀️ Morning (5am–12pm): “Good morning, [Your Name]”

  • 🌤️ Afternoon (12pm–5pm): “Good afternoon, [Your Name]”

  • 🌙 Evening (5pm–5am): “Good evening, [Your Name]”

Underneath, you can find the tutorials.

Tutorials widget

The Tutorials widget is your starting point for learning the platform.

  • What it shows: Quick access to video tutorials and learning resources

  • How to use it: Click to access tutorial content

  • Look for: A “NEW” badge when there’s fresh content to explore

Under the tutorials widget, there is a link to our team’s calendar where you can book an onboarding training session for you and/or your team to learn more about Kontentino. Simply click the Schedule a walkthrough button to pick a timeslot.

Your dashboard is organized into a three-column layout on desktop, giving you a clear view of everything at once. On mobile devices, these columns stack vertically for easy scrolling.


Dashboard Widgets Explained

Your dashboard features six main widgets, each designed to help you stay organized and efficient.


Left Column

👤 Recently Used Profiles & Profile Groups

This widget keeps your most-used profiles and groups at your fingertips.

Two tabs to switch between:

  • Profiles – Your connected social media profiles (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)

  • Profile Groups – Collections of profiles you’ve grouped together for easier management

Sorting options:

  • Used – Profiles you’ve worked with most recently appear first

  • Alphabetical – Sorted A-Z by name

What you can do:

  • Click any profile or group to jump directly to the Posts Calendar filtered by that selection

  • See up to 5 items by default, then click Show All to reveal additional profiles

  • Connect your first profile if you haven’t added any yet


📚 Brands Widget

The Brands widget gives you quick access to all the brand profiles you created within your Brand Hub.

  • The widget shows the first 12 brands

  • Click Show all to access additional brands

  • Clicking on any brand redirects you to the brand profile within Brand Hub


Center Column

⏰ Pending Approvals

Who sees this: Clients, Admins, and Managers

This widget shows posts waiting for your review or approval - so nothing slips through the cracks.

What you’ll see:

  • A count button displaying the total number of pending approvals

  • Preview cards showing post thumbnails

  • Posts with “Pending client approval” or “Pending internal approval” status

How to use it:

  1. Click the count button or the preview cards to see all pending posts in the Approvals dashboard

  2. Switch between the Internal and Client sections to see which posts need whose attention

  3. Review and approve or request changes directly from the post view

💡 Tip: This widget looks 6 months back and 1 year into the future, so you’ll catch scheduled posts that need approval well in advance.


📅 Posts Widget

Your daily content overview—see what’s going out today, tomorrow, or any date you choose.

Dynamic title based on your selected date:

  • “Today’s Posts”

  • “Yesterday’s Posts” / “Tomorrow’s Posts”

  • “Posts on [specific date]”

Date navigation:

  • Use the left/right arrow buttons to move between days

  • The widget remembers your selected date as you navigate

Each post card shows:

  • Thumbnail image with post type icon

  • Scheduled time (in the timezone of the social media profile)

  • Post text preview

  • Labels (if any)

  • Workflow status and assigned team members

  • Social media profile icon and name

Interactions:

  • Click a post to open the detailed view modal

  • Ctrl/Cmd + Click to open the post in a new browser tab

  • Click Show More to see additional posts for that day (the first 5 are shown)


Right Column

✅ My Tasks

See all tasks assigned specifically to you in one place.

What appears here:

  • Tasks where you’re the assignee (someone assigned you a task)

  • Only active tasks (not deleted)

  • Tasks on posts that need attention (Assigned to X status)

Each task shows:

  • Assigned worker’s avatar and name

  • Task description

  • Due date (if the post has a scheduled date)

  • Associated social media profile

Quick action:
Click any task to open the associated post and take action.


📊 Waiting For (Task Status)

Get a bird’s-eye view of all tasks across your workspace - organized your way.

Two view modes (switch between tabs):

View

What it shows

By Channel

Tasks grouped by social media profile/page

By User

Tasks grouped by team member

How it works:

  • Each group appears as a collapsible accordion

  • Click to expand and see individual tasks within each group

  • Easily identify bottlenecks by seeing who or which channel has the most pending tasks

What you’ll see in each task:

  • Task description

  • Due date

  • Associated profile

  • Assigned team member

Quick Navigation Tips

  • Jump to a profile’s calendar: Click any profile in the Recently Used widget

  • See all posts for a date: Use the arrow buttons in the Posts widget

  • Get the big picture: Use Waiting for to see the entire team’s workflow

Troubleshooting

Dashboard widgets are empty

What you’ll see:
“No posts,” “No tasks,” or “No approvals” messages

Why it happens:

  • You haven’t connected any social profiles yet

  • No content is scheduled for the selected date

  • No tasks are assigned to you

  • You don’t have the required permissions

How to fix it:

  1. For empty profiles: Click Connect your first profile and follow the setup wizard

  2. For empty posts: Navigate to a different date using the arrow buttons

  3. For empty tasks: This simply means you’re all caught up—nice work! ✅

  4. For missing approvals widget: This widget only appears for Client, Admin, and Manager roles


Pending Approvals widget isn’t visible

What you’ll see:
The widget is missing from your dashboard

Why it happens:
Your user role doesn’t have approval permissions

How to fix it:

  • Contact your workspace admin to verify your role and permissions

  • Only users with Client, Admin, or Manager roles can see pending approvals


Best Practices & Pro Tips

✅ Do

  • Check your dashboard first thing each morning to see what’s on the agenda

  • Use the Recently Used widget to quickly access profiles you work with most

  • Keep an eye on Pending Approvals to ensure content moves through the workflow smoothly

  • Review My Tasks regularly to stay on top of your assignments

❌ Avoid

  • Ignoring pending approvals—they can hold up your entire content pipeline

  • Forgetting to check different dates in the Posts widget—content might be scheduled further out

  • Overlooking the Tasks Status widget when managing a team

💡 Pro Tips

  • Ctrl/Cmd + Click on any post to open it in a new tab—great for reviewing multiple posts at once

  • Use the By User view in Tasks Status to quickly see team workload distribution

Q: Can I customize which widgets appear on my dashboard?
A: Currently, the dashboard layout is fixed to provide a consistent experience. However, some widgets (like Pending Approvals) only appear based on your user role and permissions.

Q: How far back and forward can I view posts in the Posts widget?
A: You can navigate to any date using the arrow buttons. The widget will show all posts created for your selected date, whether past or future.

Q: Why do some profiles show a “Demo” badge?
A: Demo badges indicate sample/demo profiles that are used for testing or onboarding purposes. These help you explore Kontentino’s features without affecting your real social media accounts.

Q: How often does the dashboard refresh?
A: Your dashboard data refreshes when you load the page or navigate back to it. For real-time updates on specific posts, open the post detail view.

Q: Can I see tasks assigned to other team members?
A: Yes! The Waiting for widget shows tasks across your workspace. Use the “By User” tab to see which tasks are assigned to each team member.
