Switching social media tools doesn’t have to be painful. Kontentino is designed to help you move fast, stay organised, and get your team publishing without losing momentum.

This guide walks you through the essential steps to migrate from another social media management tool to Kontentino - so you can get set up, bring your content with you, and start scheduling with confidence.

Step 1: Get familiar with Kontentino’s workspace

Before you start migrating content, it helps to understand how Kontentino is structured.

Your main workspace is the content calendar, where you plan, collaborate on, and schedule posts. On the left side, you’ll find post ideas (dateless posts), which you can move into the calendar (drag-and-drop) whenever you’re ready.

Unlike some tools, Kontentino keeps everything in one clear view - making it easy to see what’s planned, what needs approval, and what’s ready to go live.

Step 2: Connect your social media profiles

To start publishing, you’ll need to connect your social media profiles to Kontentino.

Kontentino supports all major platforms, and connecting profiles only takes a few clicks - as long as you have the right permissions for the accounts you’re adding.

Once connected, your profiles will be available for scheduling directly from the calendar. See the full list of connected profiles in the profile selector.

💡 Tip: If a connection fails, it’s usually a permissions issue. Double-check that you’re an admin or have sufficient access to the profile.

Step 3: Invite your team and clients

Migration is much easier when the right people are involved from the start.

In Kontentino, you can invite teammates, clients, or external collaborators, and assign them roles based on what they need to do - create content, approve posts, or simply review and comment.

This makes collaboration clear and keeps feedback in one place instead of scattered across emails and messages.

Step 4: Import your existing content

If you already have content planned in another tool, you don’t need to recreate everything from scratch.

Import posts from a CSV file

You can quickly migrate your posts (text only, no visuals for now) by importing them from a CSV file. This is the fastest way to bring larger volumes of content into Kontentino.

Your CSV file should include the following columns:

  • Date

  • Time

  • Text

Here’s how Kontentino handles imported posts:

  • Date + Time + Text
→ A new post is created as a draft on the selected date and time in the calendar.

  • Date + Text (no Time)
→ A post is created on the selected date without a time. You’ll need to set the time before scheduling.

  • Text only (no Date)
→ A post idea is created and added to the left sidebar, ready to be scheduled later.

At the moment, CSV imports support text-only content. Visuals can be added manually after import.

Step 5: Review, adjust, and schedule

Once your posts are in the calendar, take a moment to review everything:

  • Check post timings

  • Assign tasks or send posts for approval if needed

  • Make final edits

  • Add visuals where necessary

When everything is ready and approved, you can schedule posts with confidence - knowing exactly what will be published and when.

Good to know before you migrate

A few things don’t transfer automatically when switching tools:

  • Media files need to be uploaded manually

  • Already published content on social media is not/cannot be imported directly from the social media platforms

  • Add/update your personal information in My profile (bottom left corner)→ My account

You’re ready to go 🚀

That’s it - you’re set up and ready to start publishing with Kontentino.
