Need to cancel your Kontentino subscription? We’re sorry to see you go, but we’ll make the process as smooth and transparent as possible. This guide explains how cancellation works, how to request it, and what to expect before and after your subscription ends.

How Subscription Cancellation Works

Kontentino uses a soft cancellation model, which means:

  • Your subscription does not end immediately

  • You keep full access until the end of your current billing period

  • Automatic renewals stop once cancellation is confirmed

  • Your data remains safe until your subscription period ends

This ensures you get the full value of what you’ve already paid for and gives you time to export any content or data you may need.

How to Cancel Your Subscription

To cancel your Kontentino subscription, please contact our support team directly.

Step-by-step

  1. Open the live chat in the bottom-right corner of your Kontentino dashboard

  2. Let our support team know you’d like to cancel your subscription

  3. Answer a few quick questions so we can process the request correctly

  4. Receive a confirmation with details about when your access ends

💡 Good to know: Only Admins or Managers with billing permissions can request subscription cancellation. If you’re unsure about your access, check with your account owner.

What Happens After You Cancel

During Your Remaining Subscription Period

Once your cancellation is confirmed, nothing changes right away. You keep:

  • Full access to all features

  • Continued publishing of all scheduled posts

  • Full access to your content library

  • Access to analytics and reporting

What changes:

  • No further automatic payments

  • Your subscription will not renew

After Your Subscription Ends

When your billing period ends:

  • Access is restricted - you’ll see a “Subscription Expired” message when logging in

  • Scheduled posts may continue publishing - posts will keep publishing as long as the social media access token you shared with Kontentino remains valid

  • Team access is paused - all users on the account lose access

⚠️ Heads up: If you don’t want posts to continue publishing after your subscription ends, delete them from Kontentino (unless they are scheduled using the Export in advance feature [available for FB only], then follow this article to unschedule them first before deleting them in Kontentino.)

Alternatively, revoke Kontentino’s access to your social media accounts directly on the platform (e.g. Facebook, LinkedIn).

Reactivating Your Subscription

Changed your mind? Reactivating is quick and easy.

  • Log in to your Kontentino account

  • Choose the option to reactivate your subscription

  • Select a plan and complete payment

  • Previous data may no longer be recoverable

Best Practices Before Cancelling

We recommend you:

  • Review scheduled posts and delete them in Kontentino (unless Exported in advance), or revoke social media access if you don’t want them to publish after your subscription ends

  • Export any reports or analytics you want to keep

  • Download files from your media library

  • Inform your team about the upcoming change

  • Export your content calendar - select the profile and the time range → click the three dots in the top right corner → Export posts → choose between formats such as a spreadsheet (CSV), PDF, images, or text only.

Try to avoid:

  • Cancelling right before a scheduled campaign goes live

  • Forgetting to export important historical data

  • Assuming your data will be stored indefinitely

FAQs

Will I get a refund for unused time?
Kontentino subscriptions are non-refundable for partial billing periods. You’ll still have full access until your current billing period ends.

Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. Monthly plans end at the end of the current monthly billing period, and annual plans remain active until the annual billing period ends.

What happens to my scheduled posts?
Posts scheduled during your active subscription will publish as planned. After your subscription ends, scheduled posts may continue publishing automatically until the social media access token you connected to Kontentino expires or is revoked.

Can I downgrade instead of cancelling?
Yes. If cost is a concern, you can explore smaller plans in Settings → Billing dashboard → Edit subscription or contact support for help choosing the right option.

I’m having issues with Kontentino - should I cancel?
Before cancelling, we recommend reaching out to our support team. Many issues can be resolved quickly, and we’re always happy to help.
