How to fix Facebook posts publishing

What to do if you suddenly can't schedule your Facebook posts or your scheduled posts failed to publish.

Written by Chiara

Have you suddenly lost your ability to schedule posts? You may need to reauthorize your connection between Kontentino and Facebook. ☝️

What is reauthorization? Simply put, reauthorization means refreshing the connection between Facebook and Kontentino. By refreshing it, you allow in your Facebook account a third-party app like Kontentino to access your data and publish on behalf of a page.

Why is reauthorization needed? You may be asked to reauthorize your connection when:

  • Your Facebook access token expires. (This is required by Facebook every 90 days due to the security measurements for third-party apps.)

  • Meta made a change in their API.

  • You manage and want to add a new Facebook page to Kontentino that wasn't connected to Kontentino before, so access to such a new page needs to be remembered.

Before starting the reauthorization process, ensure you have a sufficient role assigned to the page. To check this, switch to the business page → go to SettingsPage setupPage access (make sure you're listed under People with Facebook access):

Alternatively, you can have a Full access role in the Meta Business Suite/Manager.

If you have the role and permissions to manage the page, you can reauthorize the connection by following these 2 steps:

1. Remove the Kontentino integration from Facebook Business Integrations

  1. Switch to your personal Facebook profile (not the Page)

  2. Open: https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=business_tools
    or
Profile picture → Settings & Privacy → Settings → Your activity and permissions → Business integrations

  3. Find Kontentino

  4. Click Remove

⚠️ Removing the integration does not delete scheduled or published posts. It only resets permissions so you can reconnect cleanly.

2. Authorize the connection in Kontentino

Once the integration is removed:

  1. Go to KontentinoMy Profile Connections → click on Refresh

  2. Log in to your personal Facebook account

  3. In the Reconnect to Kontentino window, click Edit settings. Here you have two options for granting Kontentino access — opt in for your current pages/businesses only, or for all current and future pages/businesses. Select your preference and make sure all permissions are granted to all profiles (both Facebook and Instagram) → then hit Reconnect and save your preferences

  4. Once you're back in Kontentino, select the business pages you want to connect and finish by clicking Add profile

  5. ❗️If you're managing any Instagram pages in Kontentino, make sure to reconnect Instagram too (in the same way as you just did with Facebook)

Amazing! ✨ Now your pages are connected, and you can keep scheduling your content for Facebook.
