Troubleshooting: I can't connect a Facebook profile

Did you try to connect your Facebook profile, but no profile appeared in the list? This guide will help you solve it!

You wanted to add a new Facebook profile to Kontentino, you clicked on Add new profile, but no profile appeared in the list of profiles to connect? Here are 4 steps to fix this:


1. Check your role on the Facebook page

Before connecting your Facebook page in Kontentino, check that you have the right permissions.
You need full (admin) access with content publishing rights.

To verify this:

  • Switch to the page’s profile β†’ go to Settings β†’ Page setup β†’ Page access (make sure you're listed under People with Facebook access)

  • or check your access in the Meta Business Suite:

  1. Log in to Meta Business Suite (business.facebook.com) using your personal Facebook account and select the correct business portfolio in the top left corner.

  2. On the left sidebar, go to Settings β†’ People. This shows all team members who have some level of access.

  3. To see which Pages you can access, click on your name β†’ check Business assets β†’ then Pages.

  4. Check that you have Full access (Admin access). If not, ask the page owner to edit your access to Full access.

If you are not an admin of the page you wish to connect, ask an existing admin to follow these steps:


  1. The admin needs to go to the page’s profile β†’ Settings β†’ Page setup β†’ Page access and invite you under People with Facebook Access.

  2. You'll need to accept the invitation in your Facebook notifications.


2. Remove the old Kontentino integration from Facebook

  1. Switch to your personal Facebook profile (not the Page)

  2. Open: https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=business_tools
    or
    Profile picture β†’ Settings & Privacy β†’ Settings β†’ Your activity and permissions β†’ Business integrations

  3. Find Kontentino

  4. Click Remove

⚠️ Removing the integration does not delete scheduled or published posts. It only resets permissions so you can reconnect cleanly.


3. Reconnect Facebook & Instagram in Kontentino

After removing the Kontentino integration from Facebook, refresh your connection directly in Kontentino:

  1. Go to Kontentino β†’ My Profile β†’ Authorization

  2. Click Reconnect next to Facebook (/Instagram)

  3. In the Kontentino is requiring access window, click Edit access, and make sure you have selected and granted all permissions to all listed profiles (both Facebook and Instagram)

  4. Click Continue as [YourName]

  5. Select the Facebook pages you’d like to manage in Kontentino. In this step, the profile that you wanted to connect before but couldn't, should now appear in the list.

  6. Click Add profile

⚠️ IMPORTANT: If you manage both Instagram and Facebook profiles in Kontentino, refresh both authorizations during this step.


4. Try connecting your Facebook profile again

Once all required conditions for connecting Facebook profiles to Kontentino are met (Step 1), and you reauthorized your Facebook connection (Steps 2 and 3), try connecting your Facebook profiles again in the calendar:

  • Open the Profile selector dropdown β†’ click + Profile, or

  • The New button in the top right corner β†’ Profile.

Then:

  1. Hover over Facebook in the pop-up window and click Continue.

  2. You should now be logged into your personal Facebook account. Click Continue as [YourName]

  3. Select the profiles you want to connect

  4. Finish by clicking Add profile

This allows Kontentino to publish posts automatically on your behalf.
