What if a Facebook Page isn't in any portfolio yet?
The one rule that governs everything
Safe Connect connects a page through a Meta business portfolio where you are an admin. Meta calls this level of access Full control. The page can be owned by that portfolio, or shared into it by another portfolio. Both work.
When you connect with Meta Business Manager - Login, Kontentino lists the pages from every portfolio you belong to. Pages you can't connect yet are still listed, greyed out, with the reason:
Not an admin: the page is in a portfolio where you don't have Full control. See Step 2.
Not in any of your portfolios: you manage the page only through your personal Facebook login. See "What if a Facebook Page isn't in any portfolio yet?" below, or connect it with Facebook Page Admin - Login instead.
💼 Step 1: Check your access to the page's portfolio
Log into Meta Business Suite.
Open the account switcher (top-left corner) and select a business portfolio.
Go to Settings → People, select your name, and check that your access is Full control.
Go to business assets and check that the Facebook Page (and its Instagram account) is listed, either as the portfolio's own page or as one shared by a partner.
If both are true, you're set. Head to Kontentino and connect it via Safe Connect.
If you only have basic or partial access, or the page isn't listed, see Step 2.
🤹 Step 2: Get a portfolio you admin to reach the page
Usually the page sits in your client's portfolio. There are two ways to reach it. Choose whichever suits you and your client.
Option A: The client gives you Full control of their portfolio
What the client (the portfolio admin) does:
Enter the person's email (it must be tied to a Facebook account) and choose Full control,
Assign the specific Facebook Pages and Instagram accounts,
Send the invite; the person accepts by email (invitation expires in 30 days).
Note: Basic or partial access to the portfolio is not enough. Until you have Full control, Kontentino shows the client's pages with a "Not an admin" label.
Option B: The client shares the page with your own portfolio
This suits agencies. Client pages are reached through your own portfolio, where you're already an admin, and the client keeps ownership of the page.
The client shares it: in their portfolio, Settings → Partners → Add partner, enter your business portfolio ID, select the page, and give your portfolio Full control of it.
Or you request it: in your own portfolio, Pages → Add → Request access to a Facebook Page. The client approves the request and gives your portfolio Full control.
Once shared, the page appears in Kontentino under your portfolio, with Owned by and the client's portfolio name.
Note: Share with Full control. With partial access, Meta may refuse the connection. If it does, Kontentino tells you which pages couldn't be connected and adds the rest.
💡 Tip for agencies managing clients at scale: if you manage many clients long-term, Option B is worth considering. Every client page is reached through one portfolio you control, with the same roles for your whole team, instead of hopping between dozens of client portfolios. The client can still remove the share at any time.

What if a Facebook Page isn't in any portfolio yet?
Until the page is in a portfolio, Kontentino lists it under Not in any of your portfolios. You can still connect it straight away with Facebook Page Admin - Login.
Some owners aren't especially tech-savvy, or simply don't want to deal with Business Suite setup themselves — and that's fine. Rather than sending them off to create a portfolio, the simpler route is to have them make you an Admin on the Page directly in Facebook. This is how a page/asset that isn't in any portfolio would appear in Business Suite → under Other assets:
How to add an existing page into your Business Portfolio
In your Business Portfolio settings, go to Pages → Add → Add an existing Facebook page (it's best to paste the URL of the specific page to find it) and select the page:
To assign access to your team, go to Business assets → Assign people.
❗️Important note: During this process, you'll be asked to assign permissions to the current page owner –– make sure you grant it. Not checking this option will remove ownership of the page for your client.
Once added, the page is owned by your portfolio and you can connect it with Meta Business Manager - Login.
If you don't have a business portfolio yet, here's how you can create one
In Meta Business Suite, go to the Business Portfolios section,
Click Create a new Business Portfolio (portfolio name, your first and last name, business email).
🧐 A few rules to remember
You need Full control. You must be an admin of the portfolio the page connects through. Basic or partial access isn't enough.
Instagram must be linked to a Facebook Page. A standalone Instagram account won't show.
A page in more than one portfolio is listed once. Kontentino connects it through a portfolio where you're an admin.
