Connecting Instagram to Kontentino requires a valid Facebook Page connection and correct account settings.
If your Instagram profile doesn’t appear when adding it, or your posts fail to auto-publish, follow this combined troubleshooting guide.

Step 1: Confirm you have the right role on the Facebook Page
Instagram Business profiles must be linked to a Facebook Page, and you need permission to manage that Page.
To check your role:
Switch to the page’s profile
Go to Settings & Privacy → Page settings → Page access (make sure you're listed under People with Facebook access)
Or open Meta Business Suite:
Log in to Meta Business Suite (business.facebook.com) using your personal Facebook account and select the correct business portfolio in the top left corner.
On the left sidebar, go to Settings → People. This shows all team members who have some level of access.
To see which Pages you can access, click on your name → check Business assets → then Pages.
Check that you have Full control (Admin access). If not, ask the page owner to edit your access to Full control.
Step 2: Make sure your Instagram account is a Business account
Kontentino can only auto-publish to Instagram Business profiles. Personal and Creator accounts cannot auto-publish.
To check or switch:
Open your Instagram app.
Tap the three lines in the top right (Settings and activity).
Scroll to the For professionals section → Account type and tools.
If you see the option to Switch to professional account, your account is currently Personal. Tap it to switch to a Business account.
Tap Next, choose the category that best fits your profile, and finish the setup by selecting Switch to professional account.
✅ If, under For professionals, you see items like Insights, Ads payment, etc., then your profile is already set as a Business account.
Step 3: Check and fix the Facebook Page ↔ Instagram connection
Instagram Business accounts must be linked to a Facebook Page, or they will not appear in Kontentino.
For the New Pages Experience (most pages today):
Switch to the Page’s profile
Go to Settings & Privacy → Settings → Linked accounts → Instagram
If you see “Review Connection”
The Admin (creator of the Instagram account) must open Instagram on a mobile device to confirm:
Instagram app → Edit profile → Public business information → Page → Connect or Create → Connect a Facebook page
If the connection exists, but issues persist
Disconnect the Instagram account from the Page → reconnect it again. You might be asked to review the connection after that. (This often forces Meta to refresh internal permissions.)
For the Classic page:
If your Facebook page is still in the "Classic" mode, go to your Facebook page → Page settings → Instagram:
Step 4: Remove the old Kontentino integration from Facebook
If Instagram profiles don’t show up or publishing fails, you must refresh the Meta permissions.
Switch to your personal Facebook profile (not the Page)
Open: https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=business_tools
or
Profile picture → Settings & Privacy → Settings → Your activity and permissions → Business integrationsFind Kontentino
Click Remove
⚠️ Removing the integration does not delete scheduled or published posts. It only resets permissions so you can reconnect cleanly.
Step 5: Reconnect Instagram & Facebook in Kontentino
After removing the Kontentino integration from Facebook, refresh your connection directly in Kontentino:
Go to Kontentino → My Profile → Connections
Click Connect/Refresh next to (any) Instagram profile
Choose the the way to connect (Business portfolio of Page Admin Access)
In the Kontentino is requiring access window, click Edit access, and make sure you have selected and granted all permissions to all listed Facebook pages
(Click Continue as [YourName])
Select the Instagram pages you’d like to manage in Kontentino
Click Add profile
⚠️ IMPORTANT: If you manage both Instagram and Facebook profiles in Kontentino, refresh both authorizations during this step.
Step 6: Add the Instagram profile again in Kontentino
Now that all permissions are refreshed, you can add a new profile from:
On the left side menu find +Create
choose Profile and follow the steps
Then:
Hover over Instagram in the pop-up window and click Continue
Log in to your Facebook account
In the Kontentino is requiring access window, click Edit access and make sure you have selected and granted permissions to all profiles you wish to manage in Kontentino (both Facebook and Instagram)
Select the business pages you want to connect and finish by clicking Add profile
This allows Kontentino to publish posts automatically on your behalf.
Step 7: (Recommended) Publish a test post
Create a simple post (e.g., a single image) and schedule it to confirm everything works.
